Some folks are natural smilers, and some aren’t. Of course, we know full well that lots of folks who don’t often smile a lot are perfectly wonderful workers: honest, punctual, diligent, etc. And some of those smilers are actually slackin’ scoundrels. You can’t judge a book by its cover.
Still, we start by selecting folks who are natural smilers, and go from there.
It’s not all fun and games. It’s not just pouring beers and making pizzas and laughing. It’s also doing dishes, cleaning messy tables, cleaning the bathrooms, and all sorts of other work, and some of that work isn’t fun at all. That’s restaurants, and we expect everyone to be willing to do any of it. If you apply, you’re cool with that.
We get a lot of applicants in late Spring. Summer is coming up, and students are looking for a job. While we need lots of good help over the summer, our big busy time is in the Fall, when MU ramps up for football games and what-not. We don’t want to train up new guys over the summer, only to have them leave when we are just starting to get really busy.
We don’t run a sweatshop, but we spit out slackers like watermelon seeds.
There is a lot more to working here, but at least you are starting to get an idea. Download our application, fill it out, and deliver it in person to any of our locations. (We want to meet you. We intentionally do NOT have an on-line application)
It helps to seek out the general manager. Weekday afternoons are better than busy mealtimes.
Thanks for thinking of us, but it appears things might not be a good fit. Good luck with the job search!
